ABOUT & CONTACT

Fiona is a Bristol based circus researcher, artist and teacher. Since graduating from Circomedia with a BA degree in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre in 2018, Fiona has collaborated with fellow graduate Valentina Solari to create the circus research project- Bull in a China Shop, taught creative movement research at degree level and performed in surreal comedy duo Fisheads alongside Ayla Windrich at Comedy Coal Bunker Bristol and Jackson's Lane London.

Currently she producing a solo show based from her research into performative by-products to be presented alongside the work of Valentina Solari in a Bull in a China Shop double-bill performance later in 2019. She is also co-producing VOLT scratch night at Circomedia in October 2019.

Whilst at circus school Fiona specialised in corde lisse and cloud swing and clowning and spent a lot of the time in confused yearning, hoping to find the clown elements of unpredictability and play in her aerial practice. Upon discovering a love of balancing on her aerial equipment and the joy of wobbling, she swapped cloud swing to start from zero on the tightwire. Now after graduating she enjoys using practice research to find artistic value in the lesser celebrated elements of circus practice.
